CDs of Wooden Flute Music

SOUTHERLY BREEZE
Traditional Irish Flute Music from Australia

The album brings together some of the best players of traditional Irish music on flute in Australia - Alex Burke, Dan Gordon, Elaine Jeffreys, Terry McGee, Bill Wiseman and Peter Woodley - as well as some brilliant accompanists. It covers a wide variety of styles - a mixture of high energy dance music - music reminiscent of Irish sessions - and haunting airs.

Grey Larsen and Paddy League

Grey Larsen and Paddy League have released a new CD, "The Green House". It is all traditional Irish music plus three tunes of Grey's own composition. Grey plays mostly wooden flute (Firth, Pond & Co. 6-key with Chris Abell headjoint) as well as tin whistle, anglo concertina and keyboards. Paddy plays bodhrán and guitar. Martin Hayes has this to say about "The Green House": "Their playing is both authentic and beautiful, the product of artistic humility and insight. Grey and Paddy have found the perfect balance between maintaining tradition and finding their own unique voice."
