Introduction
Some bell partial analyses I
was doing required me to put together a convenient list of the partials
we can expect a well-tuned bell to exhibit. Casting around for
somewhere convenient to keep this list, I decided on the Internet.
You might find it handy too!
To use the list, find the
name of the bell in the top row. The notes in the column
below it are the various partials you might expect to find.
Partials above the Nominal are usually suppressed (by careful selection
of strike spot and clapper size and shape) as they are mostly inharmonic.
Note that names for these
partials vary around the world. Let me know if I've overlooked
yours!
